YSR Aarogyasri Beneficiaries Can Avail Super Specialties Treatment In 3 Cities

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched prestigious YSR Aarogyasri scheme linking Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru cities. With this launch, the Aarogyasri beneficiaries from Andhra Pradesh will get super specialties treatment in 130 top hospitals that are being located in the above three cities.

‘130 hospitals have empaneled to provide improved services to Aarogyasri beneficiaries,’ said Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister in a video conference from his camp office spoke to few YSR Aarogyshri beneficiaries and doctors from MIOT hospital in Chennai, Fortis Hospital in Bangalore, and Medcover Hospital in Hyderabad.

YS Jagan launched a poster with the list of extended medical services which the state government will be providing and instructed all gram secretariats to put up the posters across villages so that common man can come to know about the scheme.

In the video conference with Hyderabad Medicover Hospital doctor Krishna Prasad, the AP CM inquired about the treatment which was being provided to Kurnool Aarogyasri beneficiary Netti Kuntaiha. Prasad explained about Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) which was being done on the patient. YS Jagan also interacted with Netti and inquired about her health and asked her about the facilities of the hospital.

In another video conference with doctors of MIOT International Best Multi Speciality Hospital in Chennai, the AP CM inquired about the treatment being provided to one-year-old boy Lokeswar. Doctors explained YS Jagan about ileostomy operation, which involves removing the damaged part from the ileum in the abdominal wall. He also intructed MIOT doctors to provide good healthcare to the child.

Speaking to doctors of Fortis Hospital in Bengaluru over video conference, YS Jagan inquired about the medication that was provided to Anantapur's Arogyasri beneficiary B. Sumitra. Fortis doctors also explained the CM about Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL), a treatment which uses shock waves to break kidney stones of the patient Sumitra.

YS Jagan instructed doctors to provide all the required facilities to Aarogyasri beneficiaries.

During YS Jagan’s Pada Yatra, several people have mentioned the absence of Aarogyasri services in other state hospitals and he had given assurance to the state people that the Aarogyasri services will be facilitated to Andhra Pradesh people in other state hospitals.

Keeping up his promise, as per the directives of the experts committee appointed by the government for the reforms of the health sector, Aarogyasri services will apply to 122 procedures in Cardiac and Cardio-therapy, 10 in Cardiology, 8 in Critical Care, 13 in Endo Chronology, 22 in Gastroenterology, 64 in Genetic Urinary Surgeries, 79 in Medical Oncology, 6 in Nephrology, 12 in Neurology, 69 in Neurosurgery, 3 in organ transplantation, 66 in paediatric surgery, 35 in plastic surgery, 13 in radiation oncology, 6 in rheumatology, 57 in surgical gastroenterology, 131 in surgical oncology.

In all 716 medical specialties in 17 super-specialty hospitals, these services will be available in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bangalore. The Health Department Chief Secretary Jawahar Reddy, MSDIC Chairman Chandrashekar Reddy participated in the meeting.
