Tadepalli: The three-day Andhra Pradesh Formation Day celebrations have commenced across the state to a colourful start on Friday ,November 1st. The state government has chalked out cultural programmes for the coming three days where family members of freedom fighters would be honoured on the State Formation Day, as stated in a statement from Andhra Pradesh CMO.
As part of this senior YSRCP leaders celebrated the state Formation Day at the party office in Tadepalli in Guntur district. MLC Umareddy Venkateswaralu hoisted the flag and inaugurated the event. Water resources Minister Anil Kumar Yadav, MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Challa Madhusudhan Reddy, and other senior leaders participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion Umareddy Venkateswaralu criticised TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for not conducting the event for the past five years. "Instead he wasted crores of Rupees on the Nava Nirmana Deekhsa. He lost an opportunity where he could have paid tributes to the great leader Potti Sriramulu who sacrificed his life for the separate state of Andhra Pradesh'', he said.
The senior leader thanked Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for resuming the November 1st Formation Day celebrations in the state.
Taking to Twitter CM YS Jagan greeted the people of the state on the occasion of the Formation day. Great leaders like Potti Sriramulu had sacrificed their lives for the formation of our State. Let us commemorate their sacrifices and commit to the development of the State, he wrote in his message.
Meanwhile all arrangements have been made for the Formation Day celebrations to take place at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium, Vijayawada on Friday evening. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan will attend the event.
The venue for the event has been decked up to showcase the heritage of the state besides staging cultural programmes to amplify the atmosphere with glitter and popular events. Music, dance, drama and other forms would be on display for three days, besides various cuisines of the state, also the handlooms and handicrafts of the state will be exhibited for the public.
