AP Formation Day To Be A 3-Day Celebration - Sakshi Post

Tadepalli: The State government has decided to celebrate Andhra Pradesh Formation Day on November 1. As part of the celebrations the state government will hold a grand ceremony for three days.

Officials have made arrangements for the celebrations which will take place in the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Governor Biswa Busan Harichandan will be the chief guests for this event, which is being conducted after a four- year hiatus.

The government has decided to hold the ceremony, which will speak of the rich culture and traditions of Andhra Pradesh.

The first day of the festival will feature handicrafts, second day will witness Kuchipudi dance performances by renowned artists, fine arts and folk art performances and Surabhi dramas. On the third day, a presentation of Telugu customs and food products will be held. Chief Secretary LV Subramanyam also asked the officials to felicitate the family members of freedom fighters and those who strove for the formation of AP. He said that a list of those who strove for promotion of Telugu language and culture and those who excelled in sports should be prepared to present awards to them in recognition of their services.

Two sub-committees should be formed for selection of cultural events to be organised as part of the AP Formation Day celebrations and to finalise the list of award recipients, he said.
