With the rainfall continuing to hit the State of Andhra Pradesh the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that heavy rain along with thunderstorms are likely to hit many districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh including Guntur, Krishna, East Godavari and Prakasam districts and Rayalaseema in the coming three days.

These are mainly south easterlies prevailing all over the State. As per the IMD reports a low-pressure area lying over the east-central Arabian Sea and an associated cyclonic circulation is likely to become more marked over east-central Arabian Sea and neighbourhood during the next 48 hours.

A trough of low at mean sea level lies over southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast and extends up to 0.9 km above mean sea level.

Under the influence of northeast monsoon, heavy rains and thunderstorm activity may prevail in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

“Andhra Pradesh and Telangana would experience very heavy to heavy rain for the next two days due to upper air circulation and a trough is extending across Telangana and Rayalaseema region,” IMD, Visakhapatnam, director YK Reddy said.
