Amaravati: Acting upon a complaint received by Burada Nagaraja, a village volunteer, Andhra Pradesh Police arrested TDP former MLA Kalamata Venkataramana on Friday, for allegedly obstructing the new secretariat building construction and shouting slogans against Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on October 13.

According to reports, police arrested MLA Kalamata Venkataramana and 19 others belonging to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) after the investigation, for defaming the government and the chief minister.

Sub-inspector Balakrishna produced them before a junior civil court and they were later released on bail.

Among those arrested are former MLA of the TDP, Kalamata Venkataramana, Regeti Mohanarao, Mathala Gandhi, Gandivalsa Tejeshwara Rao, Regeti Suryam, Kalamata Chandrashekhar, Manmadhara Rao, Jamminaidui, Boddu Hemasundar rao, Govinda Rao, Rama Rao,Kani Tavitaiah,Saripalli Bhakar Rao.
