Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister conducted a review meeting about the state of housing infrastructure and identifying the beneficiaries for the housing site pattas for the poor people in the State.

Deputy Chief Minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, Ministers Botsa Satyanarayana, Buggana Rajendranath and Ranganatha Raju attended the meeting.

The CM said that the focus should be on building houses rather than allotting sites in the urban areas. He also directed officials for prepare regulations for the regularization of illegal structures

The CM ordered the authorities to charge a nominal fee for registration for land up to 2 cents. He also ordered officials to create a proposal for charging regularisation fees for land of more than 2 cents.

In June this year the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced at the Collectors’ Conference that 25 lakh house pattas would be distributed on Ugadi. He instructed collectors and senior officials to identify government land and to acquire land if necessary to put this in place. Ugadi, the day of distribution, should be a day of celebration in villages, he said.
