Breathe Transparency Into System, CM Tells New Workforce - Sakshi Post

Addressing the candidates who had passed Village/Ward Secretary exams, the Chief Minister said that the main purpose of the new set-up was to breathe transparency into the otherwise decaying system of governance which the previous government has followed.

While congratulating the successful candidates who made it in the exams which was held in the ratio of 1:20, the Chief Minister asked those who could not make it not to be disappointed as from here onwards in every January, exams will be held to fill up the vacant posts and there will be a fair chance of employment as all Departments enlist their requirements before January.

‘This is a record of sorts that a government could create 10-12 jobs per village as most the people would like to work closer to their native place. About 4 lakh jobs are created and the village secretaries and volunteers will be the face of government at the grass-root level.

You should not treat this as a government job but this is a movement to bring in change and transparency into the system of governance which the previous government has fully ignored,’ he said adding that the new employees should show commitment, bring in best practices and drive corruption away.

‘Do your duty with a service motto and there should be no discrimination or bias is discharging your duties. During my 3,648 km padayatra, people have told me about their plight in getting ration cards, pensions, certificates and other such documents as corruption was rampant. I have assured that there would be response within 72 hours and you have to ensure that. People will be looking for basic amenities like drinking water, good school, first aid, medicare for common ailments which should be provided as there would be a pooling of 34 Departments providing 500 kinds of services. There would be a Call Centre operating from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and all complaints will be dealt with seriously.

From October 2, there will be a responsibility on your shoulders which you should handle it with dedication and in association with volunteers, you have to be part of the change that is going to take place in the state and show the nation what good governance is and what decentralisation of administration is.

There could be some teething trouble in some places in setting up of gadgets and networking which may take four to six weeks’ time but everything will fall in place and smooth functioning of the entire Villages Secretariat system can be assured by January.

‘My husband is an auto driver,’ said Revathi, who was selected as Ward Health Secretary, ‘ I used to work in a private hospital earning somewhere between Rs 5,000 and Rs 6,000. I have secured a seat in IIIT established by Rajanna (YS Rajasekhara Reddy) and completed B. Tech. I have been trying for a job from the past three years. Jagan Anna has created waves by recruiting so many jobs. I have secured the job in a notification released by Jagan Anna. I feel it as my luck to receive the appointment letter from the hands of Jagan Anna. Chandrababu has not given even 14 jobs in his 14 years of governance. But, Jagan Anna has given hope to youth by giving 4 lakh jobs in four months after coming into power,” Pujitha Ratnam, Engineering Assistant at Velpuru’s Pamidimukkala village.

Many people have said various things about Village secretariat jobs when it was announced. Only money and influenced people can get a job. But I was selected for the job without all these factors. These jobs are an example of Jagan Anna’s corruption-free governance. I have completed my engineering this year and have secured the job immediately only because of Jagan sir government,” said Abdul Khaliq, Digital Assistant.

“My parents are government employees. I wanted to be a government official after seeing my parents. Many people after studying B. Tech are working in private sectors, some remains jobless. By seeing all these, I felt sad, then my father encouraged by saying that Jagan Anna is going to give new jobs. As Chandrababu government has not given any jobs, I have prepared for central government jobs, and I haven’t got any job. But I have been selected for the job in village secretariat,” said Kouzar Parveen, Women Protection Officer.
