AP Police Arrest Four  TDP ‘Paid Artists’ For Spreading Fake Videos On Govt

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh police arrested four paid artists for posting false information and videos against the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Minister for Irrigation P Anil Kumar Yadav on social media on Sunday.

Sekhar Chowdhary, a paid actor, was taken into custody for enacting and uploading videos in which he made objectionable comments against Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Minister Anil Kumar Yadav. In one of the videos uploaded, he is also said to have made abusive comments in the name of Anil Kumar's caste and shared this on social media. He had earlier acted in videos directed by the Telugu Desam Party’s poll campaign.

It is alleged that the Yellow Media favourable to the TDP ,created these false videos using these actors. A campaign was started to malign the YSRCP Government claiming that it had failed to tackle the floods situation in the State.

Earlier AP Government's Chief Digital Director Devendra Reddy Gurrampati met the State DGP Gautam Sawang over the paid artists fake video issue and filed a complaint He urged the DGP to trace the persons behind the paid artists who are spreading false stories and videos and tarnishing the Government's image.

Based on his complaint the DGP instructed police officials to conduct a speedy enquiry into the matter. Four people were taken into custody and a conspiracy case under Section 120 B of the IPC was filed against them. The director and producer of the video were identified and the location where the video was shot was also traced. Further investigation is being conducted and more details will be revealed as soon as it is complete, officials said.
