Visakhapatnam: A navy ship caught fire off Visakhapatnam coast due to an explosion on Monday morning. The fire broke out on the Offshore Support Vessel Coastal Jaguar at around 11:30 am, which forced the crew to jump in to the waters to save themselves from the burning inferno. Thick smoke billowed out from the vessel after a huge fire engulfed the entire ship.

As per ANI reports the Indian Coast Guard Ship Rani Rashmoni rescued reports 28 people, which was in the area. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and reports say one crew person is still missing. In coordination with the Visakhapatnam Port Trust boats, ICGS Samudra Paheredar, ICG helicopter, and ICGS C-432 were pressed into action to help in the rescue efforts.
