Amaravathi: The AP Eamcet results will be released in the third week of May as against the expected May 1. The decision was taken by Chief Secretary L V Subramanyam after holding a meeting with the officials concerned here on Wednesday.
The reason for the delay is not disclosed. However, it is said that the delay is probably due to the ongoing mess vis-à-vis Telangana Intermediate exams. As it is widely known, a large number of students from Telangana also appear for AP Eamcet every year. So is the case with the students of AP appearing for Telangana Eamcet.
As the marks of Intermediate are given some weightage in arriving at the final result in Eamcet exams, it is believed that the decision was taken to buy more time so that the marks from Telangana Intermediate Board are available. The Chief Secretary also instructed the officials who attended the review meeting to release the Intermediate score of students in terms of ‘ marks’ as they are now available in ‘grade’ pattern. This is being done to help arrive at the final result in EAMCET.
The entrance exam is the prerequisite for admissions into various professional courses B.E/B. Tech, B. Pharmacy and Agriculture offered by University/Private colleges in the State. The exam was held from April 20 to April 24. Based on the AP EAMCET Rank card, the candidates are called for a counselling session and later will be allotted seats in various colleges.
A total of 2, 82,633 candidates applied for AP EAMCET 2019. Of whom, 1, 95,908 candidates applied for engineering and 86,910 candidates applied for medical and agriculture courses.
