The tension between India and Pakistan escalated after 42 CRPF soldiers were martyred in the terror attack at Pulwama on February 14. In an act of retaliation to avenge the deaths of the terror attack, India launched airstrikes in the early hours of February 26 (Tuesday) and hit JeM training camps at Balakot, Chakoti and Muzaffarabad regions of Pakistan.

The Pakistan violated Indian airspace this morning following which two Indian Aircrafts chased the Pakistan planes. During the process, the neighbouring country is believed to have shot down two planes. While one of which fell in J&K another seems to have fallen in the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir region.

It was there that Pakistan army captured the two Indian pilots. While the identity of the one injured and being treated at a hospital in an undisclosed location is not yet known, Pakistan released a video of another pilot who IAF claimed had gone missing. The pilot has been identified as Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. He's now in the custody of Pakistan and the entire nation has joined hands in prayer for the safe return of the pilot to India.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has called truce and open an option for a dialogue with India to settle terms amicably. While India has sought the safe release of the pilots in Pakistan captivity, it is yet to respond on Pakistan's proposal.
