Visakhapatnam: Minister Avanthi Srinivasarao said that Marketing committees should not turn into political rehabilitation centres.
"Keeping politics aside, They are working for poor to ensure that the poor get benefit from welfare schemes," He said.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, he reiterated that the YSRCP is a pro-farmer government and works for the upliftment of farmers in the state.
He also said that there was no corruption in the recruitment of Grama Sachivalaya posts. The posts will be given only to eligible candidates. The minister said that the intention of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is not to stop the construction of ongoing projects in the state, but to eradicate corruption. Avanthi Srinivas said that the vacancies in the Tourism and Sports department will be filled with local candidates. Houses will be granted to the eligible by Ugadi in fulfillment of YSRCP's election promise, he said. The minister hit out at TDP supporters for making false statements.
