Chandrababu Trying To Sidetrack Kodela Issue With PowerPoint Press Meets On Floods: Anil Kumar Yadav

Minister for Irrigation and Water Resources P Anil Kumar Yadav - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: Taking serious exception to TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu's allegations that the recent floods in the State was a disaster because of the State administration, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Irrigation and Water Resources P Anil Kumar Yadav lambasted the TDP leader for making such absurd statements.

"I saw the press meet conducted by Chandrababu and hoped that he would speak the truth at least now. I thought he would speak about the people affected by the floods. Instead he questioned as to how his house which was built on the river embankment was flooded", he scoffed.

The Irrigation Minister ridiculed Chandrababu's statements that the floods were 'man-made' floods and that the leader was more focussed about his power presentation in the press meet rather than the real problems of the people. The Eenadu Kadapa edition carried out a full-page article about River Krishna in a spate in the Rayalaseema region. Despite this article, Chandrababu says that there is no water in there, he quipped.

It is clear that he is unable to digest the fact that none of the major projects like Srisailam, Nagarjuna Sagar, Pulichintala and Prakasam Barrage ever saw full capacity during the five years of his regime. He is feeling that the people think of him as a "drought leader". With the farmers ready for cultivation due to the conducive weather, it is evident that if Chandrababu says that floods are ''man-made'', then he has to agree that ''drought was his make", he derided.

It is amusing to see that a leader of his stature is saying that his house was deliberately drowned, that too when he has built his house in the reservoir limits, Anil Kumar said. He questioned Chandrababu's stance by not speaking anything about TDP leader and former speaker of Andhra Pradesh Assembly Kodela Siva Prasada Rao taking away furniture and other items belonging to the Assembly. "People have understood Chandrababu's ploy of trying to deviate this issue from public eye, by staging these press meets on floods and drones, the Minister concluded.
