Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday wished the new governor of the state, Biswa Bhusan Harichandan and said that he is looking forward to work with him for the development of the state.

He tweeted, "Congratulations and Best Wishes to Sri Biswabhusan Harichandan Ji on appointment as Hon’ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh. Looking forward to working with you for the development of our state."

The Centre appointed Biswa Bhushan Harichandan, a senior BJP leader from Odisha as the new Governor of Andhra Pradesh. This was stated through an official statement released by the Rahstrapathi Bhawan on Tuesday evening.

So far, ESL Narsimhan has been functioning as the Governor for both Telugu states, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, since the bifurcation of erstwhile AP in 2014.

Harichandan (85) was a five-time MLA from Silica in Odisha.
