Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the officials and the Ministers concerned to ensure that no beneficiary had to shell out even a single penny in obtaining the house granted by the State government.

YS Jagan held discussions with Urban Development Minister Botsa Satyanarayana and Housing department officials on the government’s prestigious project of constructing pucca houses for poor in the State.

Stating that 1.5 cents' land would be given to each beneficiary, he said that the project would be taken in saturation mode this year, covering one village after another. All beneficiaries in one village would be granted plots before moving onto another.

The Chief Minister informed that the construction of houses would begin next year, while the plots and land ownership documents would be given on the Ugadi Day. The YSR Housing Scheme would be carried out in four phases and the services of Village Volunteers would be employed for the same. The list of beneficiaries would be displayed in the Village Secretariat all throughout the year so that the process of social audit was carried out simultaneously, he added.
