Actor-turned-politician Posani Krishna Murali who is known for his strong opinion is facing the ire of TDP supporters and activists. While he extended his support for YSR Congress party during the recent elections in Andhra Pradesh, his criticism towards TDP has earned him a lot of backlash.

Having made his mark as a writer, director, and an actor in nearly 100 movies, he forayed into politics by joining the YSRC party. On several occasions, Posani Krishna Murali has stated that he wishes to see YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as the Chief Minister of AP.

He even campaigned for the party during the Assembly elections wherein he sparked controversy by making sensational statements against TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu and the party.

In the wake of YS Jagan taking over as the AP Chief Minister, Posani Krishna Murali expressed extreme happiness. In a recent media interaction, he was quizzed on Jr NTR taking the reigns on TDP. Responding to the same, the YSRCP leader said that even Jr NTR can't save the Telugu Desam party.

He said, "Even if Jr NTR forays into politics with his honesty and integrity, the party won't move forward. The days of believing heroes saying, 'I can bring stars from the sky' are long gone now. Be practical. The image will grow because of the hero but not the intelligence. The perspective for public service won't grow. There is no connection to the image of a hero and politics. If you consider by the image, they might garner 10,000 people but they won't turn into voters. The discussions will only surround the aspect of seeing a reel hero in real life.

Posani also went onto say that owing to his statements made against Chandrababu and TDP, he has lost several opportunities in the films. Stating that there are a lot of TDP supporters in the Telugu film industry, the actor added that he knew the reasons to support YSRCP but it upset many due to which he is being replaced in the already-signed films.
