Ambika Krishna - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) received another jolt on Monday, post the debacle when four senior TDP leaders and Rajya Sabha members joined the BJP officially last week.

Another senior leader and former MLA Ambika Krishna said to bid adieu to the party and formally join the BJP in New Delhi. Reports say that he will meet BJP Leader Ram Madhav in Delhi and join the party officially. His brother Ambika Raja is also said to join the party along with him.

Ambika Krishna who was the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Film Theatre, and Television Corporation, is said to have resigned from his nominated post in the first week of June.

He said to have distanced himself from party activities, after the party's dismal failure in the recently held elections on AP. The TDP party cadre in East Godavari is said to be going through an upheaval with this move, while sources say that seven TDP MLAs are also in touch with BJP.

Meanwhile TDP party members met on Saturday to discuss the developments and asserted that four of its Rajya Sabha members joining the BJP clearly amounted to defection and called it "immoral and undemocratic.
