Vijayawada: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan once again landed himself in controversy. While the people of Telangana had showed an unflinching determination in achieving their dream of statehood, however, the people of Andhra Pradesh don't carry the same spirit for securing Special Status, he observed.

Speaking to press persons here on Monday, he said the people of Andhra Pradesh did not raise a banner of revolt when former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu had done flip flops on the Special Status multiple times.

"Unless the people of Andhra Pradesh express a strong desire and a protest for securing Special Status, nothing can be done," he added.

Meanwhile, political observers feel that Pawan Kalyan, who has already announced his decision to be a full-time politician, wants to position himself as one who doesn't believe in the idea of Special Status. They say this is just to distance himself from the crucial issue afflicting the State.
