Polavaram/West Godavari: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy arrived at the Polavaram project on Thursday. This was his first official visit to the projects after taking charge as the Chief Minister of the state. Before reaching the site, he undertook an aerial survey of the massive irrigation project.

Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani, Minister for Housing Sriranganatha Raju, MP Raghurama Krishnamraju, MLA Grandhi Srinivas, Puppala Vasubabu, Prasada Raju, Duulam Nageshwara Rao, Manthena Ramaraju, MLCs K Satynaaraya Raju, District Collector R Muthyala Raju, YSRCP State General Secretary K Moshen Raju, DIG Abdul Sattar Khan, welcomed YS Jagan Mohan Reddy when he landed in Polavaram site.

After reaching the irrigation project site, he had spoken to the officials in charge of the project. He asked them several questions including technical aspects of the construction, the projects capacity, cofferdam construction etc.

He also asked them about the status and details about the project completion date, which they explained in detail.

He questioned them about the spillway Concrete works...

What were the measures taken to protect the cofferdam...

If the water reached the Spillway would it not hamper the project construction, he asked...

He also questioned them that if there were floods in the Godavari River how did the officials plan to complete the construction of work.

Before reaching Polavaram, YS Jagan reached Undi in West Godavari district. He attended YSRCP leader Koyye Moshen Raju son's wedding and blessed the couple.

This is the third time that YS Jagan was visiting the Polavaram project. For the first time in 2011, YS Jagan had launched 70-km-long Harita Yatra from Ravulapalem in East Godavari district to the Polavaram project.

Again in April 15, 2015, YS Jagan had conducted a bus yatra with YSRCP MLA's, MP's MLC's and visited several irrigation sites including Polavaram.
