Hyderabad: The plans of TDP leadership to see its young leader and Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh take the reins of the party have come a cropper after YSRCP leader Alla Ramakrishna Reddy trounced the former in his Mangalagiri constituency. Lokesh fell short of his opponent by 5,337 votes in Mangalagiri.

Three days after the results, Lokesh took to Twitter to address his fans and explain the reasons for his defeat. In a series of Tweets, he asked his supporters and leaders not to be disheartened and exhorted them to get more close to people and work for them with more responsibility. He said the party would review the results and introspect on their efforts and then chart out their future course of action.

“No matter whom people have voted, my views will not change. You have been and will be my family forever. My doors are always open for you. Be it the time of happiness or sorrow, my journey is with you. I am one among you,” he tweeted to boost the sagging morale of party workers.

“Elections are held every five years. The government could change, but my relationship with you remains unchanged. Mangalagiri constituency is my house. I will be with everyone whom I have asked for votes,” he added.
