Kidari Sravan To Step Down As Minister

Health and Tribal Welfare Minister Kidari Sravan - Sakshi Post

Amaravathi: Andhra Pradesh Health and Tribal Welfare Minister, Kidari Sravan, is expected to resign from the State Cabinet in a day or two. It is learnt that the Governor ESL Narasimhan’s office had already instructed Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to this effect seeking the resignation of Sravan.

Sravan was inducted into the Council of Ministers after his father Araku MLA Kidari Sarveshwara Rao was killed by Maoists in November 2018. Although the rulebook mandates that Sravan should become a member of either Legislative Assembly or Council within six months from his induction into the State Cabinet, he is still not elected or nominated to any of the House.

He was inducted into Cabinet on November 11 and will complete six months in another two days. So his continuance in the post is not tenable under the provisions and his resignation is imminent. Kidari Sravan is expected to call on Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu before tendering his resignation.

Last year in September, two political leaders, including sitting TDP MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao were shot dead by Naxals in Dumbriguda mandal in Vishakapatnam.
