Chandrababu Preparing Ground To Blame Defeat On EVMs, EC

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy And Chandrababu Naidu - Sakshi Post

Senior YSR Congress Party leader and general secretary, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy criticised Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu for preparing the ground to blame his impending defeat on EVMs and the Election Commission of India.

This becomes clear if one were to observe the TDP supremo's behaviour from April 10 to date, he said. Addressing the media, Sajjala remarked that Chandrababu was working to a plan.

It is evident that the TDP chief wants to say that there was nothing wrong with TDP governance and that it was EVMs which were at fault.

He also wants to blame the Election Commission after May 23 and is getting ready for this seen from his reviews and his speeches. A cursory look at his working over the past one week points to this, Sajjala pointed out.

The so-called technical expert, Hariprasad who accompanied Chandrababu to the Election Commission, was an accused in a EVM theft case, he reminded media persons. In fact, the Supreme Court had delivered its verdict on the subject and had stated that 5 polling booths per constituency should be selected on a random basis for VVPAT verification.

The VVPAT slips were introduced to allay doubts in the first place. If many parties demand the return to ballot paper, all parties can come together and fight to this effect and change the law, Sajjala said. However, as of now one needs to play the game according to set rules and cannot alter them midway through an election out of political expediency, Sajjala said.

Chandrababu Naidu, while claiming that his party would win 150 seats, at the same time complained that a staggering 30% of the EVMs did not function and 20% of them had been tampered with. The TDP chief invites himself to Karnataka and other states in a desperate attempt to show his political relevance.

Sajjala said that Chandrababu can see the writing on the wall. It is quite clear that the YSRCP would get a landslide victory. The TDP chief will then try to attribute his loss to EVMs, the YSRCP leader said.

One might wonder as to who Chandrababu is trying to convince, Sajjala said adding that the TDP chief was tring to prove his party's relevance to his own cadre, because the people have already decided.

Chandrababu was also trying to project himself as a national figure and the TDP as a party on the national stage, Sajjala said and asked the people of the state to ignore the antics of the TDP chief.
