YSRCP Leaders Meet EC On TDP’s False Rumours

Amaravati: YSRCP senior leaders Vasireddy Padma and MVS Nagireddy have sent a request petition about the Telugu Desam Party trying to spread false rumours that the EVMs were malfunctioning in the state of Andhra Pradesh. By spreading these false news they are creating chaos in the state and misleading the voters, leading to voter turnout decreasing.

They met the state Chief Election Officer Gopal Krishna Dwivedi and submitted a petition appraising him of the TDP cadre's atrocities on the day of Elections.

They told him that the TDP were distributing huge sums of cash and spreading false rumours that EVMs were not working in many places in the state. The YSRCP leaders requested the CEO to take action against them.

Speaking to the media Vasireddy Padma said alleged that the TDP was spreading wrong information about the EVMs not working. This was being propagated despite the fact the CEO had given a statement that the there were technical problems in certain places but the TDP were misleading the public with this false news.

The TDP were resorting to large-scale violence in many states, attacking the public, and creating fear among them,and trying to prevent the voters from voting by spreading these false news, she alleged.
