The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP), YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s YSR Congress Party and actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena party are the three main contenders in the fray this Elections in 2019.

Meawnhile the Telugu Desam Party cadre are going out of their way even on the Election Day and using the last minute opportunity to ensure Nara Lokesh's win in Mangalagiri. It has become a matter of prestige for the TDP as Nara Lokesh is the son of the TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu who allocated this seat to Lokesh. With a strong anti-TDP wave that has already set in the state and Mangalagiri being a YSRCP strong hold, the party has decided to spend any amount of money to lure the voters , even at till the last hour of polling. Exorbitant rates for the votes fixed

TDP leaders were fixing an amount of Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000 and more for the postal ballots. It is reported that they have invested more that Rs 1 Crore for the 1,680 Postal ballot votes there. Money was being disbursed freely and election officials and police machinery have ignored all these activities.
