Devarapally/Visakhapatnam: Looks like the summer heat is getting to Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh , or rather the elections' heat we must say. Known for his infamous slips of tongue Nara Lokesh made another one in Devarapally in Visakhapatnam district on Wednesday. While addressing a rally there , he had to say Visakhapatnam Airport but instead made a faux pas, blurting out "Ykapa Airport". The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in colloquial Telugu is called "YKapa" , which resulted in even the Telugu Desam Party cadre bursting out in laughter and making fun of his mistake.
What is a Freudian Slip?
A Freudian slip is defined as an unintentional error regarded as revealing subconscious feelings.
Lokesh was ridiculing the murder attempt made on YSRCP leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and while referring to the Visakha airport , he blurted it as "Ykapa" airport. On a serious note the imminent victory of YSRCP in the Andhra Pradesh elections seems to be playing on his subconscious mind.
By now, Nara Lokesh's slips of tongue have become legendary and he has given social media users enough fodder during the course of electioneering as well. Lokesh recently appealed to the voters to vote for his party on April 9. And the video of this gaffe went viral in seconds.
In another instance, he asked women while campaigning whether they had received the amount meant for them under Pasupu Kukumam. And even as they were shouting in the negative, Nara Lokesh kept insisting that they got the money. This video was also became very popular among netizens with Lokesh becoming a laughing stock.
As BJP president Kanna Lakshmi Narayana pointed out in a tweet, Nara Lokesh mentioned his father's name in the column meant for name of the husband!
Lokesh is known to put his foot in the mouth all too often which is why he has earned the sobriquet 'Pappu' of Andhra Pradesh. He does his fair bit to live up to this reputation on a regular basis.
