Anantapur: Tension prevails in the Raptadu constituency of the district as the YSR Congress Party(YSRCP) cadre was restricted to participate in the election campaign held in the Ramagiri village of Raptadu.

Ramagiri is the native village of Minister Paritala Sunitha, since the past four and a half years, YSRCP supporters have been denied permission to conduct any kind of activities in the village by the local police.

But, with the election code in place police had to allow YSRCP Raptadu MLA candidate Thopudurthi Prakash Reddy was permitted to carry out his campaign under tight police security.

During his campaign residents of the village complained about their issues to Prakash Reddy and added that the development in the village has been neglected since long.

Meanwhile, many supporters of the candidate Prakash Reddy were stopped at other locations by police, who were not allowing them to participate in the campaign. Police objected that only locals had to be present in the campaign.

Talking to the media, Prakash Reddy remarked that he is going to complain about the election commission regarding the atrocities committed by Paritala Sunitha. He opined that police are acting in such a  way that a Visa is mandatory to enter the village and is undemocratic that YSRCP supporters are not allowed to enter the village since past four and a half years.

YSRCP leader observed that the police were acting on the orders of Paritala Sunitha and the development in the village is also meager.

Prakash Reddy pointed out that voters were being issued death threats by TDP candidate Paritala Sreeram if people did not vote for the party. He exuded confidence that YSRCP is going to win this constituency in the upcoming election.
