Tadepalli Rural: Voter appeasement has reportedly begun in Mangalagiri constituency from where IT minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Lokesh has been fielded by his father and state chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu. On Saturday when cell phones were distributed to some party workers, others are learnt to have questioned the move asking whether the ones who are being given these freebies, were the only ones working for the party in the constituency. This put TDP leaders in a spot, who are said to have hastily distributed the cellphones given by the TDP leadership and quietly slipped away.

There are 278 polling booths in Mangalagiri and cell phones were distributed to TDP workers in 200 booths, it is learnt. Those who received them were not particularly happy with the size of the cell phone, locals say. With other villagers seeking cell phones for their children who are undergraduate students among others, local TDP leaders are reportedly in a fix.The Mangalagiri seat is a prestigious one for the ruling party because Nara Lokesh has been fielded from here and the party is making every effort to salvage its reputation.
