To stage a protest against the likelihood of Prabhakar Chodwary getting a party ticket, members of the Balija community gathered in large numbers and appealed to the TDP leadership against giving him a ticket.
They demanded that a member of the Balija community be given party ticket instead or Prabhakar Chowdary and also accused him of supressing the Balijas.
The large gathering raised slogans against him and a TDP worker attempted suicide by pouring petrol on himself. Police present on the scene went to his rescue and took him into custody.
