Kakinada: The scrutiny of nominations filed for the MLC position was completed on Wednesday. The verification was carried out as per guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India and withdrawal of nominations would be accepted on March 8 up to 3.00 pm
Special Chief Secretary, Labour and Employment and Poll Observer for East and West Godavari graduates’ constituency of State Legislative Council, J.S.V. Prasad verified the scrutiny of nominations filed by the contestants in their presence at collectorate in Kakinada.
Two nominations from West Godavari districts were rejected during the scrutiny as the contestants failed to submit certified copies of electoral rolls. The contestants were identified as Kommili Rama Raju and Panthagada Raghu.
As many as 51 nominations were filed to contest in MLC polls.
