Anantapur: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP JC Diwakar Reddy is yet again in the news for a peculiar reason. Launching a scathing attack against the local police, the TDP leader said that the police were behaving like eunuchs for not taking action against the organizers of the Prabodhananda Ashram in Chinnapolamada in the district. Are there any real men in the police department? he asked the police, who were mute spectators while the MP's associates were attacking the Ashram here today. The Lok Sabha MP demanded police action against the Ashram organizers for violence against the TDP workers.
On Saturday, TDP workers attacked the Ashram and vandalised property. The Ashram organizers and TDP workers were caught in a fight. After learning about the incident, Diwakar Reddy on Sunday reached the spot along with his followers and waged another attack, this time by stone pelting.
However, the local police were unfazed about the incident. In this context, the TDP MP criticized the police saying they were ineffective in the incident. On the other side, the Ashram management accused the police of encouraging the TDP workers' violence.
