Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna, National award winning director Krish and 'Bahubali' actor Rana Daggubati, who are currently working on the biopic of late Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), on Friday met AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu at his residence to discuss the plot of the biopic. According to reports, Chandrababu asked the movie makers to avoid any kind of negative scenes that show himself in a bad spot.
Ever since director Teja opted out of making the NTR biopic, controversy surrounded the movie. Now, with Chandrababu's intervention, fans are worried that the real story around the TDP Chief's involvement in dethroning NTR from Chief Ministerial post would be completely misconstrued. Director Krish, however, promised to do justice to the film, amid criticism over possible exclusion of some of the saddest incidents in NTR's life, now that Balakrishna is portraying the legendary actor's role.
NTR's wife Lakshmi Parvathi had already raised doubts publicly, over spinning the biopic's story in favour of Chandrababu. It is common knowledge that Chandrababu had back then conspired to dethrone NTR from the post of Chief Minister, before humiliating and abusing the great leader. Not only did Chandrababu cheated on his father-in-law, he also owned NTR's legacy and the TDP after his death.
It is in this backdrop that NTR's followers and supporters are concerned with Chandrababu and Balakrishna's hand in the biopic story. Balakrishna currently represents Hindupur constituency in state legislative Assembly.
Rana Daggubati is playing the role of Chandrababu in the biopic, while actor Sumanth has been recently confirmed for the role of legendary actor Akkineni Nageshwar Rao (ANR). Balakrishna and Bollywood actress Vidya Balan will play the lead roles of NTR and his wife Basavatharaka respectively. Prakash Raj, Murali Sharma, and Kaikala Satyanarayana are set to portray some of the important roles in the prestigious biopic. Co-produced by Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Vardhan Induri, the makers of the biopic are also planning to release a Hindi version.
"Coming together to tell you a story of an incredible human phenomenon called N.T.RamaRao," Rana Daggubati said in his latest tweet.
