YSRCP’s Deception Day Protest in Anantapur On July 2

Anantapur: Former YSR Congress Party MP Ananta Venkatarami Reddy said that their party would organise Vanchana Pai Garjana (Deception Day protest) on July 2 in Anantapur to protest against the negligent attitude of State and Central governments with regard to allotting Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh as well as fulfilling the promises made in the AP State Reorganisation Act.

Speaking to media here today, Venkatarami Reddy said that the Deception day protest would be held at Anantapur Arts College grounds from 9 am to 4 pm. The five YSRCP MPs who quit Lok Sabha along with MLAs, MLCs and senior party leaders would participate in the programme sporting black badges and black shirts, he said.

Protesting against the BJP-led NDA government's response to the demand for SCS to AP, YSRCP had issued notices for moving a no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha several times. The party MPs also gave up their Lok Sabha seats in protest, the YSRCP leader said. He pointed out that YSRCP would continue to fight for SCS to AP till it is granted.

The YSRCP leader called all the party leaders, workers and supporters to sport black dress to symbolically protest against the ways of State and Central governments. State CM Chandrababu Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were the villains as far as bifurcation promises not being fulfilled, he added.
