The devotees of the religion of cricket in India discovered a new idol last night in the Afghan spinner Rashid Khan. With his breathtaking performance with the willow and the ball, the Afghan leggy worked his way into the hearts of millions of Indian fans, many of whom demanded that he be granted Indian citizenship. The scale of his heroics of such that as Sunrisers Hyderabad stormed into the Finals riding on his performance and knocking Kolkata Knight Riders out of IPL 2018, cricket lovers put forth a flurry of requests to MEA Sushma Swaraj on Twitter. They sought Indian citizenship for Rashid. Sushma who has since deleted her tweet chose to post a bureaucratic response. “I have seen all the tweets. Citizenship matters are dealt with by Ministry of Home Affairs,” she posted on her Twitter handle.
