Saransk (Russia): A female Colombian reporter was groped by an unknown man whilst presenting news for her television channel, Deutsche Welle, a Germany based news station, on the sidelines of one of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2018 matches.
A video of the incident has gone viral, in which the man is seen appearing out of nowehere and kissing the reporter, even as she was on air at the time.
Julieth Gonzalez, the reporter, later took to Instagram to share her message on the incident. “Respect!! We don’t deserve this deal. We are equally valuable and professional. I share the joy of football, but we must understand the limits of affection and harassment,” she said.
Last week, the FIFA World Cup 2018 kicked off with hosts Russia dominating the opening match with a 5-0 tally over Saudi Arabia. The biggest upset in the World Cup do far was when Lionel Messi's Argentina were held for a 1-1 draw by Iceland. Also, defending World Cup champions Germany began their campaign with a shocking 1-0 defeat against South-American team Mexico.
In yesterday's fixtures, Senegal and Japan defeated Poland and Colombia respectively, while Mohamed Salah's comeback to full fitness couldn't bring back African team Egypt into winning ways against Russia.
