The Pune police on Wednesday arrested five people with alleged Maoist links in connection with January’s Bhima-Koregaon violence. The Police officials were shocked when they recovered a letter from the group which speaks about hatching a Rajiv Gandhi kind of conspiracy to eliminate Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The letter which was recovered from the group says, “Defeating Hindu fascism has been our core agenda and a major concern for the party. Modi-led Hindu fascist regime is bulldozing its way into the lives of indigenous adivasis. In spite of big defeats in Bihar and West Bengal, Modi has successfully established BJP govt in more than 15 states. If this pace continues, it would mean immense trouble for the party on all fronts. Greater suppression of dissent and more brutal form of Mission 2016 (OGH). Com. Kisan and few other senior comrades have proposed concrete steps to end Modi era. We are thinking along the lines of another that the party PB/CC must deliberate over our proposal.”
Public prosecutor Ujjwala Pawar made these startling revelations in a special court on Thursday, saying that documents seized from the arrested persons say that a banned organization, Communist Party of India (Maoist), was planning the assassination. Pawar, while arguing for the custody of the five arrested namely, Sudhir Dhawale, Surendra Gadling, Mahesh Raut, Shoma Sen and Rona Wilson stated that all five have strong links with the Maoist organization, which has been proven by incriminating evidence found by cops. Later he went on to say that the group was planning to purchase weapons for the act that would be funded by CPI (Maoist).
