In a country where the game of cricket is treated as a religion rather than a sport, it's not a surprise to see fans worshipping their favourite players as demigods. One such incident was witnessed on Saturday, in the midst of an IPL 2018 game between Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi.
A die-hard Virat Kohli fan crossed all limits and broke all rules to jump over to the ground and meet RCB captain Virat Kohli. In an incident of security breach that shocked the match officials, the fan ran towards Kohli and fell at his feet. The Kohli fan who managed to break the security barrier in the packed stadium even grabbed a chance to click a selfie with the star batsman.

However, the security personnel were quick to jump into action and soon escorted the fan out of the ground.
Local boy Kohli and ace South African batsman AB de Villiers struck half-centuries as Shreyas Iyer-led hosts were handed a five wicket defeat, and most importantly remaining in the scheme of things to qualify for the playoffs.
With the win, Kohli's men moved to seventh in the IPL 2018 standings, and need to be successful in their remaining three ties to stay in the playoff race.
Delhi Daredevils remain at the bottom of the IPL 2018 table after an embarassing ninth loss of the season.
Elated with the victory, Kohli said, "The table is wide open, right time to get the win."
"Bowling first is better in this stage, because it's easier for batsmen to take responsibility. You can almost set up the game how you like. That's what works for our boys," he added.
