Shankerpalli: In a new twist to the murder of Sirisha at Pragati Resorts in Shankerpalli, outskirts of Hyderabad, the police have arrested another accused named Majid today. The police had already arrested Saiprasad in this case. According to police, after taking Majid into custody and interrogating him, he confessed that he helped in the murder. In fact, Majid had brought Sirisha and her lover Saiprasad to Pragathi Resorts in his car, the police confirmed.
Earlier police had thought Saiprasad was the only accused in the murder case, but later on examining Saiprasad's call data, they understood the connection of Majid to the case. It is learnt that after killing Sirisha, the accused Saiprasad had first called Majid. The police arrested him on grounds that he did not inform them about the murder to them and have seized a SIM card and phone from Majid.
Earlier, Saiprasad, native of Thimmapuram in Kothur mandal and Sirisha (21) belonging to the same mandal were known to each other and were also in love. Of late Sirisha was avoiding Saiprasad and even declined to marry him. Saiprasad decided to take revenge on Sirisha and called her to talk it out. He made an online room booking at Pragathi Resorts and carried a knife as well. It is understood that the resorts did not do any check on them nor asked for their identity cards on arrival.
In the room, Saiprasad once again asked Sirisha to marry him, which she once again declined. He then killed her with the knife and fled the place by the time the owners of the resorts identified the murder. Saiprasad was nabbed by police the next day in Chilakuru.
