YSRCP MP YV Subba Reddy, who has been admitted to hospital after his health deteriorated following hungerstrike for three consecutive days is , undeterred by this development. The YSRCP MP said that he is willing to sacrifice his life for achieving Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.

Subba Reddy, along with other leaders, has been on an indfinite hungerstrike at AP Bhavan in the national capital Delhi, to pressurize the government to grant SCS to state. However, he was forcibly moved to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital in Delhi after he fell sick. Doctors who examined him said that his sugar levels dropped to 64 and BP stands at 104/60.

Along with Subba Reddy, two other YSRCP leaders- Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and Varaprasad were also admitted at Ram Manohar Lohia following ill health. The two leaders were discharged later but were advised complete rest.

It may be recalled that 5 MPs from the YSR Congress Party submitted their resignations to Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan after the BJP led government at the Centre failed to soften its stand over the SCS issue. The MPs thereafter went straight to AP Bhavan in Delhi where they have been fasting over the last five days. Leaders cutting across party lines have expressed their solidarity with the fasting MPs.

YSR Congress party Chief, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who's been relentlessly fighting for the cause and called SCS a lifeline to AP has reiterated that his party would continue to stand by people and fight for SCS till the very end.
