Hyderabad: A 10 per cent fee hike for the Intermediate, degree and PG course is on the anvil for the academic year 2018-19. In this connection a meeting was convened between Deputy chief minister and Education minister Kadiyam Srihari and the Telangana Government Recognised Educational Institutions Joint Action Committee. The decision to regulate the fee structure will be issued by March 31 and this is likely to impact nearly 12 lakh students.

JAC president Ramana Reddy said that they have pressed for the hike in fee structure over the past five years and are happy that the state government has finally agreed to their request. Apart from this, the government also accepted the affiliation of Intermediate colleges for about five years beginning with the current academic year.

During the meeting education minister Kadiyam Srihari also promised to clear the fee reimbursement dues by the end of this month.
