Nalgonda: The Telangana Congress on Friday squarely blamed the Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham for the brutal murder of Nalgonda Congress leader Bodupalli Srinivas.
On Friday, a Congress team led by TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy visited the slain leader's house and offered condolences to his wife and Nalgonda Municipal Chairperson Lakshmi. Blaming the TRS government for failing to provide security to Srinivas, Uttam Kumar Reddy said repeated pleas by Srinivas and Lakshmi for security fell on deaf ears. "The government's apathy on the issue is evident as no arrests were made in the case despite 48 hours of the murder," he said.
The TPCC chief was accompanied by CLP leader Jana Reddy, Shabbir Ali, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy and B Bikshamaiah. Speaking on the occasion, Jana Reddy demanded a CB-CID probe in to the murder. Alleging that the murder was politically-motivated, he said it was an attempt by the TRS to weaken the strong Congress party in Telangana.
