Rajinikanth's much awaited magnum opus 2.0 has been in the news ever since it was officially announced. Recently, the makers of the movie held the audio launch event of 2.0 which was attended by many celebrities.

Within just two weeks post event, a lot of changes have happened to Rajinikanth's 2.0. Initially, the movie was supposed to release early next year on January 26, 2018. It got postponed due to Akshay Kumar's Padman which is slated to release on January 26. Akshay Kumar has a fan base in Bollywood and he will be seen playing an antangoist in 2.0.

If the 2.0 makers release it on the same date, it could affect the film at the box office. So they pushed it to April 13, 2018, which also happens to be Tamil New Year and distributors aren't complaining at all.

On the day of audio launch at Shilpa Kala Vedika, the filmmakers had planned to unveil the teaser of the film on November 22. But now, it looks like the teaser could get postponed to early next year.

2.0 directed by Shankar, is being produced under a lavish budget of Rs 400 Cr by Lyca Productions.
