New Delhi: The Centre, it is learnt, has decided to take action against Shah Faisal, the 2009 IAS topper from Jammu and Kashmir. Shah Faisal is learnt to have violated service rules through a series of tweets. One of his posts on Twitter referred to the rape culture in India.
The Department of Personnel and Training of the Central government reportedly sought action to be initiated by the J & K state government. The state government sent a show-cause notice to the bureaucrat alleging that he had failed to maintain absolute honesty and integrity in the discharge of his official duties.
On an earlier occasion, the J & K officer had posted a tweet which read, "Patriarchy+ Population + Illiteracy + Alcohol + Porn + Technology + Anarchy + Rapistan!"
He posted the notice served to him and added in response to another tweet, that we live in a 'democracy without a sense of humour'.
Reacting to the show-cause notice served to the IAS official, former chief minister of the state, Omar Abdullah tweeted that it appeared as if the DOPT was determined to hound Faisal out of the civil services. His tweet reads...
