Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Saturday unveiled a rose garden at Lakdikapul. The garden was inaugurated by deputy mayor Baba Fasiuddin and Khairathabad MLA C. Ramachandra Reddy. The land alloted for the rose garden was earlier used to dump seized vehicles by the Saifabad police.
The garden was developed with different colours of roses and also with seasonal flowers. A small rose fountain,which changes its colours at the night, was also set up.The GHMC beautified the place by building a wall, skirting the land, and also shifted a transformer, which was located there.
The garden was initiated by chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, who aimed to promote greenery in the city and passed the orders accordingly to develop the open land into a green park. The cost of developing the garden was estimated to be around Rs 30 lakhs.
